Best CS2 Cases to Open

There is no single "best" case: it depends on which knife or gloves you want and which finishes you like. Below are the best cases for each goal, based on each case's rare pool. Every standard case has the same odds (a knife or gloves about 0.26% of the time), so the pool is what separates them.

Best cases for Doppler, Marble Fade and Tiger Tooth knives

These 8 cases carry the Chroma finishes (Doppler, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth, Damascus Steel, Rust Coat, Ultraviolet), the most popular knife finishes after Fade. Doppler phases like Ruby and Sapphire only come from these. See Doppler phases explained.

A cheaper way to a specific knife

If you want a particular knife, buying it or a knife trade-up is usually cheaper than unboxing. A trade-up uses five Covert skins from one case and gives a random item from that case's pool, so you pick the pool and know the cost up front. Check the numbers in the knife trade-up calculator and read how the knife trade-up works. For the odds of every rarity see CS2 case odds.
